Create an account at each of these social media hubs:
Twitter: http://twitter.com

YouTube: http://youtube.com
MySpace: http://myspace.com
Ning: http://ning.com
On Facebook use a first and last name. On the rest you will choose a user name. Be consistent in the user name that you choose, if available. Also be consistenet in the avatar image that you use.
Each site allows for the input off personal/profile/bio information. Make the most of it. Refer to your story and use what facts you can to represent who you are and to attract like minded or similarly experienced people.
Link Twitter to Facebook. Then link all the rest to each other. Please see my Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace and Ning pages as an example.
